I have been given this little beast by the lovely Rainywood Photography.
Now, I’ve always thought about attempting photography with a proper SLR camera, but I’ve never done it because quite frankly, it terrifies me.
I’ve always been safe with the comfort of having a digital camera and I’m guilty of the, *Snap. Look. Fiddle. Repeat*, until I get a picture I’m happy with. And you don’t get that with an SLR camera (obviously), you don’t even get the joys of Auto.
I know in the long run it’ll make me a better photographer and my pictures will improve, but my god does it make me anxious! I don’t want 42 pictures of utter rubbish. I know I won’t nail it first time but it doesn’t mean I won’t be disappointed when I don’t. I guess this will also be a lesson in not putting myself down for not being perfect.
And I’ll need to actually leave the house, I don’t really need 42 exposures of my cat…
For now, I will have to spend ages on the internet, swearing at myself for not remembering how to change the settings (what does that dial do again???), doing my best not to be my usual clumsy self, and bothering poor Woody so he can remind me how to use his camera.
At least it’s not a canon….
My dad was in the army air force after WW2.He took cameras from b-29 bombers and developed the film. I wish he could of continued in the field, He also served in England.
